Ayurved

Ayurveda is a 6000 year old health care system, that asserts that 'science', philosophy and spirituality are the necessary aspects for a healthy living.

Ayurveda is considered not only a comprehensive medical system, but also a way of living. It not only helps in curing diseases but also helps in preventing them. It includes a wide range of methods and techniques to treat illness and encourage general wellbeing.

In Ayurveda, various aspects of treatment are made use of- like

  • Herbs
  • Yoga and exercise
  • Diet
  • Daily and seasonal routine.

  • According to Ayurveda, when the body- dosha balance is vitiated or in disorder, or if any of the doshas are accumulated, the individual may become unwell.

Doshas and toxins accumulate in the body which are result of improper diet and lifestyle. Seasonal accumulation of doshas have also been described in Ayurveda.

In Ayurvedic treatments, each disease/ condition comes not only with only  medication  and herbal remedies, but also with all other aspects like diets, exercises, yoga, relaxation therapies, stress management etc.

Together with medical treatment, changes in daily routine can help in improving health and promoting harmony in living with nature.

Ayurveda plays an important role in our daily treatment plans. According to ayurveda, the human body and all matter in the universe is made up of "Panchamahabhutas" , the 5 elements i.e. Prithvi, Aap, Tej, Vayu and Akash.

    The theory of Tridoshas

All the physiological processes in the human body and the pathogenesis of various diseases, and their symptoms, prognosis etc are explained by the theory of 'Tridoshas' i.e. Vata, Pitta and Kapha, the Saptadhatus - Rasa, Rakta, Mamsa, Meda, Asthi, Majja and Shukra and the Trimalas- Mutra, Pureesha, and Sweda.

All the Dhatus have their specific Upadhatu and Malas. The Tridoshas derived from the Panchamahabhutas i.e. the 5 basic elements constitute the bodies of all living creatures from microbes to man.

The treatments are planned according to these concepts which include herbal medicines, diet, yoga and lifestyle changes.

The treatments focus on root cause rather than superficial symptomatic treatments. Hence Ayurveda is a powerful healing mechanism for any ailment.

A very professional doctor. Me and my husband visited her for my skin trouble. Dr. Girija was definitely aware of the many subtleties of Ayurveda. She recommeded us a very easy-go treatment and was very attentive in taking up followups. We found the treatment very useful. Now we regularly use her ayuvedic soaps and hair oils.
